Del Norte Federal Bank was chartered as Del Norte Building and Loan Association on May 9th, 1921 by Charles W. Donnen, William Johnson, Louie Eickenrodt,  J.H. Weiss and J.P. Russell.  The purpose of the building and loan was to provide a safe place to save money and to offer financing for families to build homes.  The Bank Charter was modified to Del Norte Federal Savings and Loan Association on May 14th, 1935 through the Federal Home Loan Bank System and as authorized by the Home Owner's Loan Act of 1933.

Today we are still organized as a Federal Mutual Savings and Loan.  As a Mutual Savings and Loan the bank is owned by our depositors.  This means we are not bound by demands of stockholders and can focus entirely on the welfare of the community and our members.

Our mission hasn't changed much since those early days, except to open up more products and services to both individuals and businesses.  In January, 2007 the bank moved into our new facility and changed our name slightly to Del Norte Federal Bank.

Del Norte Federal Bank has always been and currently is a conservative, stable part of the community and we look forward to many years of serving our customers with modern banking products. We remain TURE to the community with a stable financial condition; we are LOCAL because we're owned mutually by our depositors; and after all, we're a BANK offering the many products and services our customers need to succeed in today's demanding world. That's exactly why we're a TRUE. LOCAL. BANK.

We have found the community to be highly supportive of our philosophy;

"Sustain the community and they will sustain you".
